What are scopes?

At BeWo we measure your emissions in 3 different scopes, required by the upcoming EU legislation CSRD. This process helps to avoid greenwashing and cherry-picking when it comes to measuring carbon output.
That way, you can get an idea of the entire volume of your emissions, both direct and indirect.

This is what that means:

In Scope 1, we measure all your direct emissions. This covers anything your company’s facilities and vehicles emit.

Scope 2 includes the indirect emissions that are associated with your share of heat, electricity, and cooling.

Lastly, Scope 3 is where the most uncertainty occurs. Scope 3 emissions include a variety of activities that you wouldn’t consider to be your emissions at first sight, since a lot of it concerns your partners, suppliers, and third parties you work with.
That is also why it holds the highest potential for accidental greenwashing.
